
Visited Helmsely last weekend. First time I'd been there for a whileand it was very picturesque full of blosom. This watercolour on Saunders 10" x 7" is looking up the street towards the church. Notice the large white ducks coming out of the stream!
Paintings UK was established 5 years ago to showcase the work of UK artist Pete Dimmock. Pete started off in his favourite watercolours and has now gone back to this medium. For Pete,creativity and humour and evoking a feeling and a memory with the viewer are important. Picasso,Wesson and Willam Russell Flint are some of his favourite artists.He has taken part in exhibitions in the UK and has works in collections in Britain and Europe.
I spent a great week recently in Cornwall. Some fantastic fishing villages not to mention the pasties and clotted cream! This one was painted on site plein air on quarter imperial size saunders watercolour paper.
This is a very famous and much painted castle in Scotland. I aimed to capture the mysterious atmosphere of the place in watercolour. I painted this on site on an easel as I looked at the castle a few hundred yards away.
Painted this one on a local North east Beach a few days ago outdoors on site. Watercolour 16" x 12" All of this 'summer rain' that we've been having lately actually held off fortunately.

Heres my latest watercolour painted from a sketch that I made last month on one of our local beaches. Quarter Imperial size with Winsor and Newton paints. It was a cold day but bright and fresh. I didn't see any pirates!

Another from my recent Nov 06 trip to Scotland Watercolour-14" x 10" on 200lb Bockingford paper. It was a very fresh Scottish day at this charming fishing villlage. I think this painting sums up the experience.
